Finalistic

Both did quite well during their last performances but Adam did better and Kris did worser (mainly during the second songs). The third round where they sang the new songs didn't do anything for me. If Adam isn't the big winner, it will be a big surprise, similar to when Bo Bice didn't win.

You guys -- I DID NOT get to see the final show! :( I read a couple articles last night and it sounded like they both did well. Even though I didn't see the finals I agree with Johnnny that Adam should be the winner, and if he's not it will be a surprise and a bit of a let down.

I remember that season when Carrie Underwood beat Bo Bice in the finals and what a surprise it was...but to Carrie's credit she has become HUGE in the country biz and is probably the second most successful AI winner after Kelly Clarkson. So, you just never know! I get to watch tonight! :)

America is full of morons and boy-crazy, cell-phone addicted 13 year old girls who think Kris is cute. Adam was robbed but he'll be a star no matter what. Still haven't seen the performances from last night.

Holy smokes! I totally expected to hear Adam's name and I know you guys did, too. I agree with Beth, I think Kris edged out Adam because of the young girl voters who think he's cute. He is cute, but Adam is stronger and has more star quality. Hopefully they'll both do well in their careers.

WHOA! Kris wins it all...amazing! I too agree with the idea that teeny-bop cell phone junkies are clearly deciding this show, so it really wasn't a total surprise that Kris got more votes. Plus, the judges have all but begged us to vote for Adam, so obviously his votes have been low for a while. In a way, though, it might be a good thing for him that he didn't win. I'm sure he's gotten zillions of offers from producers, and maybe not winning gives him a little more freedom with his career, who knows. Either way, there's little doubt that he'll be huge, win or lose. He's totally in a class by himself.

I've always kind of liked Kris so it's ok with me that he won. I mean it's just so blatantly clear that Adam is the better singer that having a Non-Adam win is kind of "whatever" in the big picture. This way they both get to have careers. Of all the Non-Adams, Kris was my favorite.

One thought about the show in general: Was this not the best final results show ever?! I loved that Adam sang with Kiss; loved all the stars doing duets with past contestants; Danny and Lionel Richie were great together...anyway, I'm really glad it was so entertaining. Quite honestly, it almost didn't matter to me who won so having the show be crazy good was fun.

Hopefully next year there will be more great female talent...2 years in a row with guys in the finale...aren't Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson the biggest moneymakers from the show? Come on ladies...

When they announced that Kris Allen was the winner, I felt like someone punched me in the stomach. It's similar to the let-down disappointed feeling I would imagine after going on a long trip and expecting at the end of it, to be staying in a really great hotel with a jacuzzi in your room and with a view of the ocean, but instead, you end up in an very average ho-hum room with a garden-level view of the parking lot. What a waste of a whole season to end up with an American Idol who doesn't seem worthy of the title. This is also similar to the feeling I get whenever I hear the oxymoronic phrase "President Obama". Sorry!

Johnnny Crybaby is going to need some adult medicine tonight for his aching stomach.

Hi! You probably knew that the comment from Reagan James' Dad was really from me, but I just wanted to clarify to be sure. :)

Have you recovered yet, Johnnny? The next day there was so much stuff on Facebook regarding the results -- most people thought Adam should have won but there were a few Kris fans, too. I agree with you, Kit, at least he is very good and is likable, too.

As for past winners...I think you're right, Kit, Kelly & Carrie are two of the biggest stars/money makers for sure. Chris Daughtry has also been extremely successful. It would be fun to know how the three of them rank against each other (record sales, etc.). I know they've all won Grammy Awards!

OK, guys, have a great Memorial Weekend and lots of fun celerating Kit's birthday!!
